Think about the context of the band, guys. Sabaton is basically historical metal. They're not sending a message, they're recounting a specific event. Especially given "I'm sentenced for crimes I did not commit I'll pay with my blood, is this really it?" and "Bishops fighting for fame Torture in vain, I won't surrender Purified by pain" among other lyrics, it's very clear that this is song is about a particular person's point of view, perhaps a victim of the inquisition.

Sabaton also has many pro-religious (or at least pro-worshipper) songs, such as In the Name of God and The Last Stand, so to jump to the conclusion that this is sending an anti-religious message is erroneous.
