I've noticed in a lot of Linkin Park's stuff that they talk about being manipulated by a narcissistic person and realizing what's happening when its too late. Songs like "The Little Things Give You Away," "Pushing Me Away," "Numb," "One Step Closer," and even certain parts in "Burn It Down" all have these similar themes. From all of this, I'm guessing someone in the band maybe had a narcissistic parent, like I do, and music is their way of getting all those painful memories out.
