Twisted Logic Lyrics

I always think of it as being about humans destroying the Earth, and about how generally evil humanity is. All our separation and wars and hate, when we should be unified, peaceful and loving. We can't claim to be civilized and act like animals.

"Sunlight, opened up my eyes to see for the first time. It opened them up." light being shed on the issues of the world, and opening up your eyes to the corruption.

"Rivers will run dry, but not for the first time. Rivers will run." Just general human destruction to the Earth, using up all its natural resources.

"Hundreds of years in the future there could be computers looking for life on Earth" we'll all be dead and gone, and it could be from many different things. Disease, Famine, Nuclear war, unlivable temperatures, most likely heat. But we've done most of these things to ourselves, out of greed.

"Don't fight for the wrong side, just say what you feel like. Say what you feel." politics! A complicated but important aspect of humanity filled with opinions, some good some bad, but perspective is important, too. "Don't fight for the wrong side" well to each side, the other is the wrong side. You don't know who's right and who's wrong. It's confusing. But if you say what you feel, speak your opinion, trust your gut, DO SOMETHING to change what you don't like, you'll still be shut down by others. There is no way to win.

"You'll go backwards, but then you'll go forwards again." we as a society are always changing, new laws are being passed, societal awareness and acceptance, etc. These things could go both ways, and they do. We progress as a species, we move forward, but then we do something to screw it all up and we all go backwards again.

"Created, then drilled and invaded" we were created, (according to most religions) and then we immediately messed everything up. We invaded lands, drilled into the Earth, killed and wiped out countless species out of human greed and entitlement.

"If somebody made it, someone will mess it up" yeah, pretty self explanatory, but really true. We mess everything up.

"And you are not wrong to ask "who does this belong to?" it belongs to all of us..." either referring to land, and how we treat it like it's something we can own, or about the mess that we have made, asking who created it, looking for a simple reason that caused it, something that wasn't them, because they'd much rather believe a blatant lie than the truth, which is that this mess belongs to all of us. We all contributed, whether we admit it or not.

Overall a really amazing song and Chris did fantastic.
