I basically think this is a complicated story about something simple: being fake. Someone using someone else, someone being blinded by ideas of a perfect life. The lyrics sound like the words of a person pointing out that it’s all fake. “He’s only playing games don’t be distracted.” And when he isn’t listened to, he leaves.
For me, I like relating songs to my own life. When I really like the sound of a song, I do some research on the lyrics and try to study what they could possibly mean to the songwriter. Then I try to find out what they mean for me personally so I can use that song to mean something positive in my own life. I think this song is about not letting your self be blinded by others. I usually take an idea like that and transform it into something else. “Not being blinded by others”... that can also mean not letting your opinion get trampled. Stick with what you believe in. Leave if you have to. Just don’t stop loving what you love.
