I think this song is about two perpectives: Natalie (and the Chicks) talking to their fans or fan, about what happened with them after Natalie's comments, cause most of their fans abandoned them and their just asking like what happened? where did you go? - "The words that you said/They still ring in my head/Don't you know/We say goodbye/With a tear in our eye/Oh, where'd you go?"... then we have the perspective of a fan who i think is regretting leaving them or at least is kinda apologizing in behalf of the all fan base and saying to the chicks that it's not their fault and they should've continued- "It's not alright
