This song kind of reminds me of "Ready to Go Home", in that it sounds like a song of a person who is ready to accept their fate, and is weary of life. That's just the feeling I've got from it. I'm sure other people have different views of the song.

It could just be a person who is willing to accept fate, or they are looking to reflect on life before they move on to better things/pass away (So take me where I can meet the familiar unknown/We are always ever home/Always ever home).
