There's a great and touching article where Roger talks about his trip to Thailand during or after college with his friend Micheal. The went with 300 bucks between them and made ends meet by giving guitar lessons for cash, and they drank Mekhong whiskey because it was cheap and strong (Roger always jokes that it'll strip the white off your teeth and advises not to drink it but keep it around for cleaning things). Micheal was with Roger in Thailand where he wrote this song. Micheal later died a long, slow, hard death due to cystic fibrosis, and often Roger introduces this song by dedicating it to Micheal and giving the "Here's to this thing we all share, Here's to Live!" toast before they kick the song off. This song along with "Leaky Little Boat" inspired my tattoo and is one of my favorite songs of all time.

@DrThunder "Here's to Life" not live...stupid fat fingers.

@DrThunder This reply is correct. Tempe - while it sound like Taipei- are not the same or a mix up of each other.

Here's To Life./ Mekong. has more meaning than that. Roger has confirmed as such. He is not they type to mince words for the sake of it. Taipei is Taipei - and is for that such as described by DrThunder.

Here's to Life you all! God bless all those who know AZ music tragedy and heartbreak firsthand.
