Meaning is more obvious when you watch the music video and see the imagery they matched with the song. This is about both Paul and Joey. They lost both of them to perceived devils inside of them. The song mentions accusatory feelings conflicting with guilty feelings and how you can blame one party, both parties, or nobody in any given situation.

The deaths in the music video represent killing off their former selves they didn't appreciate. The band frequently mentions the fourth album being their least favorite with everybody feeling lost and not as together as a band. Each member is killing their inner demons and you can see the red figures (representing Paul and Joey) lurking in the area and at the end helping clean up the remains of the perceived demons. You can say this is the fates of Paul and Joey aiding in the process of each band member eliminating their problems and moving on in life.

The new members being stabbed can either be seen as baptizing into the band, as many outlets suggest, although I would say it's their way of purging their inner demons before entering the band. Every band member dies in the video. The entire band is moving forward and shedding themselves of the guilt and cognitive dissonance of losing close friends to poor lifestyle choices.

You can potentially link the first verse to Paul and the second verse to Joey. Although the wording is still vague enough to just make them general statements about conflicts of interest/personality and the struggle to reconcile with someone when both sides play the victim.

Seems like nobody wants to admit it but it holds accusatory tones towards those who use drugs, which almost all band members have suffered at some point in time. Sensory deprivation via the use of drugs, and turning on every one which is often a part of addiction when those around you all disagree. Paul specifically ran from his close family approaching him about drugs and promptly used in a reckless manner that led to his death.

This is probably their most powerful song and although not my favorite song musically, its meaning is strong and treads on the grounds few choose to walk. This was probably their most difficult one to write and record. Fresh off the loss of their bassist and disillusion with their drummer, and in the pain and struggle they created some of their best work yet. Shame...
