I think the meaning of this song is actually about Christina Grimke herself and her life, I don't think she had a child, so maybe the part about a child not picking up the phone on a Saturday night, so maybe it was about her running away after a fight or something, I thing she is trying to say that life is a rough time and a hard journey and can be scary and not all that great sometimes and that you shouldn't take anger out on others ( the don't curse god part) and that maybe we should think about he good things in life instead. Maybe it doesn't but to me she is saying that it's a rough journey and to take it slow and figure things out and to treasure all of her moments in life.... deep, huh?
