Hey April, I actually wrote to Susan Enan and asked her about the inspiration for the song. She was rather vague in her response but basically indicated that she had a friend who was moving back to Scotland because he expressed that there was too much city and he wanted to get back to nature. That became the catalyst. She didn't give me anything more to go on than that. I still feel the interpretation makes the most sense.
