So i'm thinking this song is about a guy who has gotten out of a relationship with a wild girl, and his acceptance of this reality has brought him to a surreal and bleak place. All motivation is gone and he is barely considered alive.
And in a way, this disgusting state of being is "kinda" like a love song. Most love songs are passionate in happiness or in heartbreak, and this is neither. It's pure apathy at having lost (or never had) something. But it has completely overtaken him, and in THAT ironic way, his apathy is kinda like a love song.
"Your brothers they all think I'm crazy
I think it's nothing at all
Today I'm feeling kinda lazy
So I'll be sleeping it off
Once again, it's kinda like a love song"
^They think he's crazy for being affected by her, because they don't get it.
He's depressed and sleeping away everything.
"Then she decides that the dogs
they belong inside
It's a never ending ride you're taking
I can decide for you hey
It's kinda like a love song"
^She starts sleeping around with (inviting in) any scumbag guy (dogs).
Him caring about what she does is just going to lead him on an endless ride of emotion... so he "decides" that becoming apathetic is the best way to be.
"The party's happening somewhere else babe
Here there is nothing at all
Someday I'll be somebody's slave
For now I've got me all to myself
It's kinda like a love song"
^He's not going to act like a party just to get her back.
He is being his depressed self and letting it all be, because he knows it's useless.
His loneliness is his own love song right now.
"We think he's alive but the flies make me wonders why
It's never ending Pile I'm raking
Chesters beside you and he's singing you a love song"
^He is technically alive, but for all purposes is really dead inside.
He's not really getting anywhere.
And "Chester" maybe refers to whatever random guy (dog) she's sleeping with.
"And while you're finding your way home
Me I'll be watching me a TV show
And if the darkness is all you see
Well then you don't know what you're missing
don't know what your missing, do you?
And it's kinda like a love song"
^She's out partying but will be alone at the end of the day.
He's just watching TV and accepting his singleness.
Her lifestyle won't bring her happiness and someday she'll see that.
This was all my take on it. It's pretty similar to what others have said!
Okay.
