After reading the lyrics a couple of times I think it's safe to assume that this song is about a break up or a guy trying to get a girl back after they have broken up, but things don't turn out in his favor.
In FIRST/ verse, the girl starts off by stating the duration of the break up "Two months ago now"
Since she came around this house". The guy has been desperately trying to get her back; calling and calling, but nobody answers.The girls seems to have made up her mind and doesn't want anything to do with the guy again "She's made up her mind, made up her mind" - IT'S OVER!
SECOND VERSE. In his desperation to get her back, he starts using material and glamorous things to get her attention, but he fails because the girl was not interested in those things; all she adored about him was his personality/mannerisms... "Your laughs and stupid jokes"
THIRD VERSE. I think here the breakup has finally broken him down and he has resorted to substance abuse "Empty bottles, where to go next,Knowing what you truly missed"; trying to drown his sorrows, reminiscing about the good old times, yearning to relive.
