Cover art for The Sky Is Fallin' lyrics by Queens of the Stone Age

He doesn’t sing:” So much to hate”, actually he sings: “cost me so much today” If Josh had a personal cause to write this song then we should ask him what it was about. But it is how it is. Like so many of the QOTSA lyrics are pretty fictitous, so it can match up in various situations. If it means for you to give up cynicism then you were pretty cynical before. btw. Josh is/was more sarcastic than cynical. It makes a big difference. For me the Song actually is about giving up something or letting go of something what is negative or keeps you low. Maybe a relationship either a Opinion of everything: at the world, at oneself, at people, the universe, sience and and and…. I think this song can help a lot of people in different situations so we can draw conclusions off the lyrics. This is the beauty of this song that everybody is able to take their own personal meaning. And i guess it was Josh’s intention for us to do that. And yes it is one of my favorite qotsa songs too. peace

My Opinion

@itchy35255 are you sure he's saying "so much today"? I thought I actually read an interview where he said it was about his wasted youth when he was...sort of a bigot? I don't remember specifics. Don't downvote me if I'm getting it wrong! I'm pretty positive about it. Of course I have no idea where I read the interview. But he's saying "cost me so much to hate".
