I think Deadmau5 is being ironic by making a dubstep-ish song. I think he's trying to make fun of dubstep by saying you're a "one trick pony".

He's never been shy to say he despises most edm artists for abusing easy rhythms. I think this was his way of saying fuck you in a song. Subtle, but maybe.
