I believe this song feels "out of context" with the place where it sits within the narrative. Between "Liquid Eternity" and "Beneath the Waves". It doesn't relate well with the entire concept of the "Planet Y" Disc if you consider that the song portrays a day in the life of an "Earthly Human". But if you think of it as a "simulated existence", a "simulated common day" within the "Systems" of Planet Y, THEN it makes sense. Perhaps not all of the "Forevers" know they live within a machine world... and maybe they feel something strange about their "simulated world", but they still think it is real... which could explain why they "won't connect the dots".
