Cover art for Forget It lyrics by Breaking Benjamin

This song can be interpreted many ways. I think it’s about “Jane”. He loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. She makes him feel that much in love with her that he begs her to let him stay caught in her way. The relationship with Jane is, and I always believed, forbidden in a way for whatever reason. He wants her to fall in love with him too.

It's a crime you let it happen to me (He’s saying it’s basically criminal that she made him fall in love) Never mind, I'll let it happen to you (He’s wants to make her fall in love with him) Out of mind, forget it there's nothing to lose (He has nothing to lose) But my mind and all the things I wanted (Except his sanity and the way he wanted it to be between them) Every time I get it throw it away (Every time she gives him the chance to get together, he throws away the opportunity. Probably because he’s scared about the way she makes him feel) It's a sign, I get it, I wanna stay (Ok this is tricky but if you read into the lyrics he’s referring to Jane’s diary. Later in the song he mentions that he’s just a page inside her spiral notebook. He believes Jane is giving him a sign about her affections. In reality Jane might have wrote the diary as a way of coping with life, and never intended for it to be read) By the time I lose it I'm not afraid of love but I can surely fake it (Love makes you feel crazy sometimes) How can I believe when this cloud hangs over me (I always thought his relationship with Jane was forbidden in some way. He’s wondering how he can believe in love when he feels guilt, referring to the cloud that hangs over him) You're the part of me that I don't wanna see (Being with her reminds him of his bad side) Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it Forget it (never mind) There's a place I see you follow me (He wants her to be in his life) Just a taste of all that might come to be (He sees it so clearly that a part of him believes they’ll eventually work out) I'm alone but holding breath you can breathe (He’s staying away from her until she’s ready to have him back. He’s giving her room to breathe) To question every answer counted (He only is giving her room to breathe so she can think. She’s questioning some of the things he said) Just fade away (Either she is or he is wishing the feelings would go away) Please let me stay (He’s begging for her to let him stay) Caught in your way (Even if he isn’t good for her)
