This song is clearly about a relationship gone wrong, or something similar.

"white sand and a vague sense of youth" young adulthood, or she's looking back at the time and feeling older.

"how can i get through" a sense of feeling stuck, or maybe she doesn't know how to convey her feelings to the person, or doesn't know how to get what she wants out of the whole situation.

"it's a violent truth that I'm like you" maybe there's something that was distasteful about the person, or maybe they hurt her in some way, and yet she realizes as time passes that she was like that person in certain ways, and she doesn't like that fact because thoughts associated with that person are unpleasant.

"14 quiet days these hours just slept in your place" "16 lonely hours no sun or depth 15 dreams of you all alone but still far from reach" My interpretation is that these are all thoughts on how she felt at different times. The first line is perhaps about her time spent with the person and how everything was fine and she was able to be with them. The second line, lonely hours, no sun, is about being separated from that person. Perhaps missing them, perhaps the loss of someone close just hurting them, and there's no hope for it or clear solution. Dreams of the person, perhaps wondering what they're doing with their life, perhaps unable to stop thinking about them, whether they're angry over them or they miss them. Either way, they have no way to connect with them.

"you said the first time was so perfect but the rest was all just wrong you said there too many gone too long" This line along with the "violent truth" line really stand out to me. She's basically saying the person really enjoyed their company originally, but things started going bad. Despite the good, too much was bad and so it wasn't worth it anymore.

This song seems to be about a relationship turned sour and heartbreak.

The only part I'm not really sure about is "white sand" and "crosses." Perhaps this is about prayers or purity. Or maybe it's less metaphorical and she would think about him while at a beach, maybe drawing things in the sand, I'm not sure.

Anyway, that's my interpretation. I love this song because I broke up with someone after loving them for a long time and I still think about them daily, and I've end up having certain behavior that I hated about that person, and I have to accept that some of their behavior was justified.

Song Meaning

@palebonedust makes sense. white sand could be referring to the contents of an hourglass, a symbol of time, relating to "a vague sense of youth"
