I think this song is a metaphor for the civil war. For instance, consider the line: "I'm too hot (hot damn), call the police and the fireman". I believe that the deeper meaning behind this line is the Union fighting against the Confederacy in the civil war, because that fight was really hot (hot damn!). And you could even go so far to suggest that it further parallels the civil rights movement in the 60s, because the police were pretty bad back then, (and racist), and that might also contribute somehow.!? :)
