This song is obviously about singer songwriter Nick Cave.
He has a song from Murder Ballads that is named Song of Joy. Hence the first part refers to it: "I’ll be your girl named Joy". Not sure why she wants to be Joy in the first place, because the narrator of Song of Joy kills this woman named Joy.
The second reference I see is Loverman. "When you are my loverman
Until the bitter end". This again is a song by Cave with the same title: Loverman. Also covered by various other bands.
The "And call me the wild rose" is a reference to another Murder Ballad track done by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds together with Kylie Minogue.
