Serenade of Flames is a beautifully sung duet, playing out an interaction between an inquisitor (witch hunter) and an alleged "witch" that he has captured. Throughout the song the "witch" tries to reason with the inquisitor. However, he is either a religious zealot or just takes sadistic pleasure in having power over people (or both) and refuses to let her go by saying "One more night and then in flames you'll die". Meaning he'll burn her at the stake the next day.

One exchange reveals the nature of her capture, with the inquisitor saying: "I can't negate the evidence They say you've healed a little girl With guidance from another world"

This clarifies that she likely used medicine to cure a little girl of some ailment, rather than "using" prayer, and someone accused her of witchcraft for it.

She then responds with: "Then a good deed, now my last mistake You tell me my reward's the stake Is this the Christian duty you preach?"

After trying futilely to reason with the inquisitor, the "witch" eventually realizes that she will never change his mind and accepts her fate to die at the stake with the line "One more night and then in flames I'll die".

Overall, this song highlights the ridiculousness of the witch trials and the cruelty of the inquisitors. It even mentions the Malleus Maleficarum, a text used by witch hunters to justify the torture and killing of innocent women and some men as well. It's an interesting topic and while the subject matter is dark, I really like the song.
