Im not saying any of you guys are wrong. But the first time I heard this song I fell in love with this song for it's deep sorrow melody and I never really listened to the words. Until about a month ago while I was studying the Bible and realized this song isn't just about a man's love for a girl. This song has Biblical meaning. "The Sun's gone dim" Mean's that the worship of G-d is fading away. "And the sky's turned black" means that the world is becoming evil and corrupt and now is the time for God's wrath. "Cause I loved her", "her" being the church or G-d's people. "and she didn't love back", G-d's people not worshiping Him back for all His awesome blessing. Some of you might think yeah sure Bible freak. But it was crazy how I never really ever listen to this song and during my studying of the Bible while i was trying to interrupt the meaning behind some of the parables in the Bible, like the "sun". This song came up right at that moment. But you don't have to take my word for it, the movie it's self speaks of what I am talking about. But without scripture..... I think??? I have to watch it again since it's been years that Ive seen it. Anyways, God Bless and read His word!!!

@joel113551 I think someone like you should look at the Bible and see where the person is coming from. I read the KJV Bible but I think you don't understand it or don't want to understand it what Jesus did for all of us human beings. He died for all of our sins, was buried and rose again. I'm not speaking fiction here. We're not "Bible freaks" we are just people who just happen to have a faith in God. I don't know if you're saved or not, but if you are, please forgive me. I read the KJV Bible but I think you don't understand it or don't want to understand it what Jesus did for all of us human beings. He died for all of our sins, was buried and rose again. I'm not speaking fiction here. We're not "Bible freaks" we are just people who just happen to have a faith in God. I don't know if you're saved or not, but if you are, please forgive me. But if not, please see for yourself and read the KJV Bible in the New Testament starting with John (in the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God and the Word WAS God). Jesus Christ is the Word and He is God.
If you wanna live like the pharisees then go ahead and continue being blind like they were. We Christ followers don't claim we have no sin anymore. We still sin every day just like you and everyone else who doesn't believe. I'm not here to judge you cruelly. I'm here to show you the truth and to plant a seed and then let God do His work to show you. You just have to have an open mind. Because we all need Jesus as our Saviour. We can't say there's no God or that we are bigger than God or that we came from the mythical "Big Bang Theory" as single celled organisms. If you really think that God is evil, maniacal, genocidal etc, then you're wrong because if He was, He wouldn't have sent His own Son (That being Jesus), to die for us on our behalf to give us the FREE gift of life).
I hope this puts some prospective in your mind and hardened heart. I Pray that you find a KJV Bible and read John. It will show you that truth.
