I just want to compare this song to Taylor Swift's "Wonderland," because they both are based of Alice in Wonderland.
This song is more creepy and dark than Taylor's, as are most of Melanie Martinez's songs. But I like that this takes on a dark version of Wonderland, because most people make it into a fantasy.
Basically all of these lines are references somehow to Alice in Wonderland, except the "I'm peeling the skin off my face" line confuses me because I don't remember Alice peeling her skin off. Maybe the caterpillar going through metamorphosis?
