I absolutely break every time I listen to this song. It somehow brings the words to the emotions that I thought weren’t explainable. It captures the growth in youth into the harsh realities that surrounds life. It shows the people who were once excited for their futures, their dream lives only to realize that reality will kill them before they get there. That they’ll have to one day give up their dreams just to provide food for themselves, to only care about the essentials of life which is survival. The emptiness is the harsh acceptance of reality, the unfulfillment that reality punches our gut’s with. The heartbreaks from fallen relationships strips away our romance, our love, our hope, our trust. The heartbreaks that replaces our emotions with emptiness, forever missing our love, our happiness, ourselves.
