I see a lot of people putting their own personal meanings behind the song and I think that's awesome and just shows the beauty of music as a art form. From our own personal problems, perspectives and happiness we find meaning.
My personal interpretation is that this song is about suicide or someone who is coming out of a domestic relationship... Either coming out stronger or ending it. I have never personally been through this or no anyone who has... But to me it's a hauntingly beautiful song. It makes me feel sad and relieved at the same time. It's crazy how a song can make you so emphatic with no single person to show it to. No wonder religion hates music.
