Love Your Way Lyrics

One of my favorite Powderfinger songs musically - very catchy with great riffs.

The song is clearly about a couple who have fallen out of love but remain together. The singer still respects the girl and can't put his finger on why they drifted apart, but there is no desire on either side to reignite the love.

The remainder is a little harder to interpret - they remain together nonetheless, and in a sense each 'exploit' the other ("you salvage what you need, I'll take the love you leave"), but with little clue as to why - money, status, pride? Or just the fear of loneliness?

Whatever the reason, the final lines suggest a clear and willing transition - "what we've just begun". They are not planning to split up, on the contrary they are moving to a new loveless stage of their relationship with mutual acceptance.
