This is such a sentimental and emotional song for me. Almost every word of it accurately describes my feelings towards a girl from my high school, the most beautiful girl in the entire school. During our time together we became best friends, with me falling totally in love with her. I was sure that she felt the same about me, but could not be certain, and so I just couldn't pluck up the courage to tell her how I felt about her. Eventually we left school, and a short time later we went our separate ways, never to see each other ever again. Many years have passed since those times, and I have had quite a happy and successful life, but every so often the memories of my school days, and my lovely friend, come back to me.
