An underrated ballad in my opinion, and should of charted higher than it did. The way Steve's emotions come through in this song are hauntingly brilliant. Whilst Faithfully deals with being in love with someone whilst being on the road, this deals with the breakup of a relationship due to the same circumstances.
In the song, he recalls the 'sad cafe' where the breakup most likely happened. He then goes on to recount the 'same hotel' and 'the same old room' where he spent his nights whilst on tour.
After which he says that she needed so much more than he could give, meaning that he couldn't see her as often as he would like. The last chorus is where I think his emotion really shines through.
He obviously still thinks about this girl and still cares very deeply about her, as he calls out her name in his sleep, and can still see reflections of her face, as well as the sound of her voice haunting him.
