Aurora Lyrics

"Aurora" was a person who, in the singer's mind (and perhaps to many others) was a great, perfect, untouchable and wonderful person, someone that the singer admired and aspired to be like--and then, for whatever reason, something bad happened to Aurora. Perhaps she failed the singer in some way; perhaps she even died or had a mental breakdown. Whatever the case, the singer feels genuinely terrible for Aurora and doesn't know what she can do (or could have done) to have saved her...while at the same time, the singer is dealing with her own keen disappointment that someone she admired was fallible all along, that perhaps if she'd treated her as more of a person in need of help and less of a goal to aspire to, she might have been saved. Perhaps, too, she realizes that if Aurora, who seemed perfect, could fall, then she (the singer) can never be strong enough to handle her own difficulties. The singer mourns both her image of Aurora and herself.
