To me this across as a perspective from a disillusioned soldier who has been sent to war (Iraq invasion? Gulf War?)
They believe that their lives are being put at risk for your (our) greed. This verse I feel really sums up the emotion behind the track:
"Now you're a million miles apart
As we bleed another nation
So you can watch your favorite station
Now you eyes pop out your sockets
Dirty hands and empty pockets"
In other words we've dirtied our hands (blood) so as to empty our pockets (of money) for consumerism. War is big business for many corporations (and governments).
