I believe that this is a story of a boy, who thought he was bad in every way, and when he actually had a real imperfection, people respected him more and thought he should roll with the cool people. He told them he was nothing good, but went anyway, thinking that something might make him better, but inside, he knew he would be nothing. So with nothing to work with, he found that the bigshots lived well except they beat the crap out of him, and right before the leader killed him, he could sense rage seeping out of him, and then they just got rid of him.

This shows why you shouldn't beat down on yourself to much or focus on your failure.
