Also, I feel that this part

seems to suggest a sense of denial/suppression of what
is really going on in the world .
Rather than try to deal with the real world, or be constructive,
they remain ignorant to the problems of the world,
preferring to live hedonistically and beyond their means,
consuming champagne and caviar and watching the world
burn from a heated spa
