// "Make a little conversation. So long I've been waiting to let go of myself and feel alive" //
To me, this song very much sounds like a person realizing/coming to terms with their sexuality. And in this line it sounds like the narrator is talking about it a little bit to a friend but not "outting" themselves, although they would love to come out and they feel like they have waited so long to do so.
// "So many nights I thought it over.
Told myself I kind of liked her, But there was something missing in her eyes" //
So this sounds like a boy who has struggled with their sexuality for a long time, telling themselves that he could be straight, but realizing that he can't be.
// "I was stumbling, looking in the dark, with an empty heart. But you say you feel the same. Could we ever be enough? Baby we could be enough" //
This means that he was still struggling, unable to love the girl. Then he met a boy who was also struggling with the same thing. He ends up really liking this boy and questions if they could be enough. And the reply, "baby we could be enough" is either the same boy (the narrator) answering his own question, saying "yes. this could work". Or another perspective could be that it was the another boy's reply, saying that they both could be enough.
// "And it's alright. Calling out for somebody to hold tonight. When you're lost, I'll find the way and I'll be your light. You'll never feel like you're alone, I'll make this feel like home" //
At this point in the song you can tell the couple is in a relationship. For the line, "calling out for somebody to hold tonight", I imagine the boy calling the narrator (on the phone or in real life) to come sleep with them because he feels lonely and/or homesick. And when the narrator does, he replies, "you'll never feel like your alone. I'll make this feel like home".
// "So hot that I couldn't take it. Want to wake up and see your face
and remember how good it was being here last night" //
So this is when they wake up in the morning in each other's arms, enjoying the moment and remembering last night.
// "still high with a little feeling. I see the smile as it starts to creep in. It was there, I saw it in your eyes." //
I don't think they meant literally "high", I think he meant that he was so happy last night and the next morning that he just felt a high. The narrator looks at the boy when they both wake up and he smiles at him and suddenly the narrator realizes that he's in love. "it was there, I saw it in your eyes" is a very important line. earlier in the song, he says "there was something missing in her eyes". so he finally found what was missing in her eyes and found it in his. also notice that the pronoun changed from "her" to "your".
Then the third verse and chorus repeats.
