I can relate to this song but differently from the rest of the comments, it's about love that's doomed to fail and he wants her to promise that they would at least stay friends in the end. He holds on promising that she's the only one he'll love. Being in a long distance relationship and slowly losing touch, this song hurts to listen to because I don't want the relationship to end
