The way the guitar sounds like he tried to purposely make it "cracked" and haunting. it leads me to believe it a melancholic song about people's idea of "their kind of woman" or man or partner etc, that idea always being "by their side" "sticking right next to me wherever I go" I think drag thing is symbolism for he creates his own "kind of woman" in his head and she always there with him. IMO it's a lonely song, but then again MAYBE it's just about a person in drag and I'm projecting myself, I don't know.

@Sobertoast Then again he is in a good relationship from what i read. maybe it was more of the vision of the video director and Mac went with it.
