i think this song is about relapsing on a drug. the first half of the song is about the thought process youd go through while doing it, like you know you dont want to but you know it will feel so good once you do. a lot of weighing positive and negative outcomes.
the second half confuses me. i have several theories about it but none of them quite hit the nail. it could be about anthony green talking to his wife about replacing his heroin addiction with her love and presence. it could also be about how he wants to hide the addiction and lead a normal life, but keep it in the shadows, knowing it has a tendancy to screw things up. i dont know...id like someone else to weigh in
