I absolutely love this song and it's probably my favourite off of the new album.
St Jude obviously carries a substantial amount of sadness to it, perhaps a love that wasn't going anywhere due to unforeseen differences, etc. I get a sense of hopelessness whenever I listen to it. As though the protagonist has tried and failed to make things right, and even though the love's still there it's as though it's impossible to fight for. It hurts she's leaving but she's learning more about who she is and she's kind of lost in translation of her own life and the problems it comes with it.
