I think this is about Good Riddance the band. I think the writer is struggling with the changes that come from being a young band 'unbound as if we'd never hit the ground' with 'dreams' and doing it for the love to a band that has become a career band that records tours etc to make a living..... 'sad parade' 'intentions fade' etc...but people still love them.
