I'm hearing "I was looking at a code". From my perspective, Blue Mountain represents a place of disposition that christianity presents for people. "What you see is just what you know" - we are insignificant on a universal level, but we make ourselves forget that so we can find reason in our lives. We climb Blue Mountain in hopes of finding other lost souls to live harmoniously with, to abide by a common code of conduct, and ultimately save each other from desperation and loneliness. In this way, God is the idea that life will come easy to us if we live in ignorance of the fact that there is no point in living. :-)
This song empowers me, no matter the intention of the artist, by my own interpretation. It's not easy being a cynical atheist, but at some point you have to stop your belly aching, put the pieces of your life back together, and just live true to yourself.
