Lyric discussion by kirbydunker85

This song is in fact about my cousin, Frank. As a young teenager at the age of fourteen, Less than Jake was one of my favorite bands, and losing streak one of my favorite albums. Every year we would have a family reunion, where family members would gather from all corners of the US to congregate in respect for my late great-grandmother. My father's uncle, who is the father to the cousin who this song is about, lives near Gainesville, Florida, near where Less than Jake originated from. My cousin was a follower of the punk/ska scene in late 80's through the 90's. Frank is a very new-aged, progressive, forward, but sometimes opinionated person, which the songs lyrics reflect Less Than Jakes disdain for the opinionated part. At the reunion, Frank who was always ahead of the curve when it came to trends, asked me what music I was into. Surprising him, I told him I listened to Pennywise, Pulley, Less than Jake, Catch 22, and other various skate punk/ska bands, and that is when he told me the story behind the song, and that it was in fact about it. Needless to say as a kid, with other friends who listened to Less than Jake and this album front to back, it was pretty awesome to tell your other friends that you had a Less than Jake song written about your family member, even if the song wasn't the most flattering.

I made a typo saying the song is about it, but in fact Frank told me it was about 'him'.
