I remember the first time I heard this song. I was driving with my dad in his car and about to change the radio station but he stopped me when this song came on. While it was playing he started to cry and explained how it reminded him of his mother who had passed over 9 years earlier. I felt bad or my father and began to think of my grandmother the rest of the way home.
About a month later I was listening to a radio station again, this time alone, and "Calling all Angels" came on. I listened to the song more and more and quickly got addicted.
Then it stroke me. This song reminded my father of my grandmother, and it reminded me of my older brother, Alex. Aex has been fighting osteosarcoma since I was in the beginning of elementry school. I remember being my sixth year-old self and crying in disbelief as my brother entered surgery after surgery.
This song makes references to simple things like "tv set" for example. These simple small refrences remind me of before my brother got diagnosed and how simple life was.
Also to me this song sounds like it is meant for someone in my thoughts and if I had to dedicate it to anyone it would be my brother, cancer surviver of 5 years. <3
