Maybe it's just one concrete thing, that he can't stand, e.g. some bad think he did. I think it's possible, but "too much of knowledge" is more oriented on science (and album (or parts) are inspired by the science book "The quantum enigma), so I prefer this interpretation. But sentence "It’s just a dreary memory stuck in your mind" makes me pretty unsure.
