Okay so lemme tell ya what i think:
Obviously, the guy is friends with this girl. Him saying that they've got a story and he's about to change the ending, means that THEY ARE FRIENDS, BUT HE DOESNT WANT IT TO END THAT WAY, HE WANTS SOMETHING MORE, he wants to be with her. He loves her and he wants to let her know. He's also saying that they should stop pretending like they don't have feelings for each other, cause he knows that she likes him too. He's asking her to stay and not want her to be with someone else and just see that he is actually the one for her. :)
