Identity Disorder Lyrics

Cover art for Identity Disorder lyrics by Of Mice & Men

I think this song is about the effects of society and peer pressure. "All i am is what I say, so turn you're back and walk away" Is about this person trying to be themselves but nobody likes that person for that person for who they are. I am in a similar situation and I can tell that it sucks and that is a sad statement.

"My words cut deep, the silence is deafening." He's trying o say his words have meaning but there's nobody listening and it kills him inside that he i alone.

"I'm starving for someone (that's real)" He needs somebody who is also being them self and not who society wants them to be.

"So I bite the hand that feeds (They took all from me)" He is pushing away everyone that cares about him. His family, and friends. Society took everything from him so he does not even trust i them anymore.

"I question every part who I am. It's hard to tell which side of me is in the right" He is wondering if he is wrong and society is right.

"With these two different people inside of me fighting for my life, fighting for my life." The real him and the him society wants to be are both fighting to be him. Struggling to make him who he is and will be

Song Meaning

@infantree I believe that the entirety of the song is making a new personality for others to see so you are accepted in society. "all I am is what I say" is a good example from the song. It could mean that you are someone different but you don't want to show others.
