Lyric discussion by DarkAngelNia

I've listened to this song over and over again and it is by far my favorite song from the Lion King trilogy. The meaning behind this song in my eyes can be many different things. Based on the movie and the fact that Kiera said she doesn't want to be a Princess in Simba's eyes he's stating that this is life and you can't run from it. It's not going to end. It is what it is kind of thing, but every Disney fan knows that this song has much more of a deeper meaning to it. Now if you take the fact that the "outsiders" are a shade or two darker than the pridelanders you'll understand that this movie specifically was a racist movie. Now remember when Kiera and Kovu are standing between Simba and Zira and Kiera states that a wise king once told her that "We are one". Well its in a way saying no one is different. We're all the same inside and out. It only makes sense when you put two and two together. What is the true meaning? Well, it's in the title. We are one. "We are a part of each other."
