From what I can tell, without making any blatant assumptions, the song seems to be about helping someone you care about out of something of a tight jam, basically.
I mean, it seems fairly straightforward, in that regard...

Is recognizing that said friend/family member is a bit of a bind.

Is basically saying "Look, we're gonna help you as best we can, we're not just gonna let you burn".
