Centuries Lyrics

For me, this song is about someone who is very determined to be remembered, though not necessarily in a bad way. It reminds me of someone who wants to be famous, and here's why I think that: 'Mummified my teenage dreams' - Like they want to preserve it, as to mummify something would be to preserve something that would otherwise just rot away. They preserved their teenage dreams of being famous, in my head. 'The kids are all wrong' - This has two meanings to me, either that the kids were saying he couldn't do it, but he could, or when coupled with the line 'The stories are off' It makes me think of all the things they're told, all the 'legends' and stuff, but he believes they're wrong, and that they shouldn't be looking up to these people, but someone who has more to offer, like him. 'And I can't stop 'til the whole world knows my name, 'Cause I was only born inside my dreams' - He feels like his dreams are the only thing that gives him meaning, the only thing he wants in his life, and he just can't stop until he gets it. 'And just one mistake, is all it will take' - He only needs to mess up once to not be able to influence people in the way he wants to, he has to be careful of the name he gets for himself.

These are just a few reasons why I think it, perhaps you have the same idea too!

My Interpretation

@HutcherJay @Drums91 @girlwithcoffee Your interpretations of the songs really got me thinking! They are each very reasonable and I am glad you all shared them.
