I believe there's a meaning the artist gave to his song, and we all make interpretations to what the song tells us depending how we feel or think, even if it's not the same as the artist's.

I think about it in first person. Like there's a little bit of me inside this guy and I'm gathering all the pieces inside him. He's literally lost so much on his life and I kind of give him the feeling of getting the pieces together. He is bigger than me, years older and yeah, his hands tremble too, when he gets nervous. Then "I see you building the castle with one hand while tearing down another with the other" i see him trying to build up something (new and better) in this scenario, building something between us, but in order to accomplish that, he must tear down the bridges which take him to the past. I see him trying to get some balance in his life, for he looks back and remembers the goals he has missed.
