This song makes me think of the typically relationship, the guy is always wrong and the girl is always right.
This interest of his was never meant to be much, due to the fact he sees all the differences, but she got to him. and after all his doing (apologizing and blah blah for nothing) she left him and stabbed him in the back. He is just shocked and doesnt understand how a person could be so cruel, so he wants to cut her open to see inside. While all of this emotion runs through him he also tries to look at the other side, she was cruel and not right so he is trying to not let himself care about it.
