Cover art for Your Eyes lyrics by Bombay Bicycle Club

This song is pretty self-explanatory I think. He is the weaker half in this relationship. “Nod my head so dumb with love, there's something else I'm dreaming of, shut my eyes pretend it's there, keep me here, unaware” He’s checked out of the relationship and is too preoccupied thinking of other things other than what she is talking about. He makes all these promises to her, but later thinks about what he has said and realizes he’s not so sure he really means them. He asks her to humor him by thinking about the things he cares about because she clearly is usually uninterested. “You come out and say the word, quick how all the tables turned” is her saying how she feels right away when she is upset, where as he usually bottles it up. So he is saying the mood changes when she is upset. “Hate that there's a space to fill, always have and always will” is him feeling a void in their relationship. They both try to find things to fight about “poke at any dirt we find, magnify for us to see, then dig them up desperately”. When he says “I’m there when your finger snaps, it’s not where we left it at, I can see the love we trapped, coming back” he is saying that right at the hint of making up, he is eager to do so. After they step away from the fight, they are reminded of their love for each other. Then the song ends with a repetition of “your eyes” which is him surrendering to her because he is influenced by her eyes.
