Okay I understand the original meaning and it makes sense.... yet I thought something completely else. You could interpret it in a whole nother way.
When I listened to it, I thought it had more of a metaphorical meaning and I thought about sex! (yeah I know, naughty... sry).
Common = something people have in common (other meaning of the word), f.e. sexual experience
A wave, an awesome wave, that rushes skin and widens in blooded veins. = who doesn't know that wave of emotions when having sex?
Breathe in, exhale = yes we also do that while having sex
I’ve poked a nerve he’ll slap me like a whale = you touched a sensitive spot and the response is very intense (orgasm?!)
etc etc....
The only word that didn't fit is "fear slipstreams", unless you turn it even more around and say it's about rape. But I don't want to go there :D
@Stylebreed in your particular interpretation, "fear Slipstreams" could refer to performance anxiety melting away as said person realizes that they are in steady rhythm with their partner...

And yes, I have a wild fantasy.
